Abstract | This class introduces students to basic features of the legal system. Questions of constitutional and administrative law, contract law, tort law, corporate law, as well as litigation are covered. |
Objective | Introduction to fundamental questions of public and private law which serves as a foundation for more advanced law classes. |
Content | 1. Public Law Constitutional law: sources of law, organization of the state, fundamental rights. Administrative law: administrative decisions, organization of the administration, enforcement of administrative decisions, procedural law, basics of police, environmental and zoning law. 2. Private law Contracts: contractual freedom, formation and breach of contracts, basics of sales and lease contracts. Tort law: negligence and strict liability, liability limitations. Basics of corporate and civil procedure law. |
