Atomic orbitals and energy levels: ionisation energies, atomic spectroscopy, term values and symbols. Quantum mechanical atom model: wave-particle duality, the uncertainty principle, Schrödinger's equation, the hydrogen atom, construction of the periodic table of the elements. Chemical bonding: ionic bonding, covalent bonding, molecular orbitals. Equations of state: ideal gases
