AbstractWe will study the topology and geometry of 2 and 3 dimensional spaces (manifolds) from an informal point of view.
Objective-what is it like to live in a non-Euclidean space (for example, in a surface)?
-orientation, genus, curvature
-classification of closed orientable surfaces
-spherical, Euclidean, and hyperbolic geometry
-3-manifolds a la Thurston
