Introduction to basic concepts of system theory.
Modeling and classification of dynamical systems.
Modeling of linear, time invariant systems by state equations. Solution of state equations by time domain and Laplace methods. Stability, controllability and observability analysis. Frequency domain description, Bode and Nyquist plots. Sampled data and discrete time systems.

Continuous performance assessment: Additional 0.25 grade points can be obtained during the semester through (optional) graded homework exercises.
Students will be allowed to bring to the examination one A4 sized page with handwritten notes.
