| Kurzbeschreibung | Modern genetic analysis in the post-genomic era. Starting from the principles of Mendelian genetics (exemplified in the model organism Drosophila), we will discuss the implications of the sequence information of entire genomes and the prospects of Systems Genetics with a special emphasis on human genetics. | ||||
| Lernziel | Successful students will gain knowledge about concepts in genetics (as exemplified by the genetic toolkit in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster), the impact of genome sequence information on genetics, and the principles of genome-wide association studies. Furthermore, they will be able to critically read and evaluate primary literature. | ||||
