KurzbeschreibungThis course focuses on the Earth’s magnetic field and the magnetization recorded in rocks as a way to study its past. In addition to mineral magnetism, field and laboratory methods, and data analysis are covered, as well as the wide range of applications of magnetic methods in Earth sciences, e.g. magnetostratigraphy, studies of the early Earth, geodynamics or structural and tectonic studies.
