Additional information on mode of examination | The final note of each student will be determined from: 120-Minute Final Session Examination: 100% The exam is "closed book" and "closed notes." Each student will be allowed to bring a standard scientific calculator. An announcement will be made before the exam begins whether this calculator will be necessary. Devices with internet access and mini computers are not allowed. In addition, during the semester, weekly exercise series (problem sets as learning tasks) will be assigned and collected. Three of these assignments will be selected at random and graded pass/fail. If a student passes 2 of these 3 graded problem sets, they will receive a 0.25 bonus on their grade for the final exam. |
Written aids | Students may use one A4 sheet of paper (“cheat” sheet) that includes any information that they consider useful for the exam (both sides). Printing, scanning, and copying is allowed. Students can collaborate to make their cheat sheets or use sheets provided by AMIV or the course instructors. A periodic table of the elements will also be provided to each student with the exam, along with other useful tables. |
